He Doesn’t Love Me Like He Used To

There was a time when I was everything to him.

But not anymore.

Now he’s sixteen and she’s the one he wants to be with. She’s the one he wants to talk to. She’s the one he wants to spend time with. She’s the one he loves.

I asked him if he still loves me.

He said, “Mom, I love you for letting me love her.”

    They don’t love us like they used to, but hopefully they will love us differently than they used to…as they get older, the love changes but I believe it is a different, better love. That might not make sense but oh well!
